Note: Keep in mind that even if the hidden Scaramechs make a distinctive sound when you are near, some of them are extremely well hidden. The goal of this project is to bring back the immersion and emotion of 90's era JRPGs on current hardware, with the expected evolution in both design and technique.Step 1: Haru's StoryI would highly suggest following this walkthrough which outlines the entire game AND the achievements. Basically all of the achievements in the game are missable, and the game is fairly short, so it's easy to accidentally skip something and have it be not available. However, the upside to the game being short is that missing something won't set you back long. You will want to finish every achievement in this step except for Kurkoko's story and the "platinum trophy" achievement.Step 2: Kuroko's StoryYou will need to replay the episode a second time from Kuroko's point of view. You should have got all the achievements in the first step except for this one, so just run through the story quickly for the final achievement. Her story is much faster. Conclusion:This is a very good game, reminiscent of early Final Fantasy entries, especially FF6/FF7 with its industrial setting - except replacing sprites or blocky polygons with cute chibi characters. Made by a solo developer from France, it's a really nice love letter to JRPGs. Despite its many missable achievements, the game is quite easy to complete, and fairly short being the first episode in a series.

The first episode (Shrapnel City) finds Duke in the devastated city, blasting his way through the urban streets swarming with Techbots. In the second episode (Mission: Moonbase), Duke follows Dr. Proton to his secret high-security moonbase, where his experiments and machinations reside. Finally, the third episode (Trapped in the Future!) sees Dr. Proton realizing that Duke is ruining his plans, and so he flees to the future with the help of his time machine. Duke gives chase, and must fight him across time if Dr. Proton is to be defeated and his mad schemes put to a permanent end.

The game is level-based, with the objective in each level being to reach that level's exit. Points are scored for killing and destroying enemies and for collecting items and completing objectives. It allows many objects onscreen to be shot: obstacles, as well as enemies, can be destroyed by gunfire. At the end of every level (with the exception of the last level in each episode), the player can receive up to seven 10,000 point bonuses, earned by making certain achievements in the level. Objectives include destroying all security cameras in a level and collecting all four letters of "DUKE" (even more bonus points are awarded for collecting them in the right order). At least two other Apogee titles, Duke Nukem II and Rise of the Triad, have similar end-of-level bonuses. 2ff7e9595c
