I have license [redacted] and Product [redacted] for QuickBooks Pro 2008. Laptop crashed, need to reinstall 2008 so finish year end. How and where can I find the download?? Link above sent me to a sign in and I never had an ID or password. HELP

The oldest QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) version you can download or activate is 2010 from our website. QuickBooks 2008 and 2006 are old versions that are no longer supported. With that, we're unable to activate them as a new product.
In doing this, you'll have to restore the 2008 file in 2012 > 2016 and then 2020. First off, you can download a trial version of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2012, then restore the file, then create a backup file.
QuickBooks Desktop has a 3-year lifecycle. That said, when you move your 2008 data to the latest version, it's recommended to restore the data first to a lower version instead of jumping directly to the latest one. To do that, you'll have to download the trial versions of QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2021. Here's how:

Improved communication between the item record cost field and the replacement cost purchased on checks, credit card charges, bills and POs. Now you have the option to update the cost in the inventory or service item when creating a new purchase transaction. Now you can base change item prices on unit cost. This is a choice to change cost of an item in the item record (via a pop-up window) at the time the purchase transaction is entered. You can elect NOT to display the pop-up message via a checkbox, but whatever choice you make on that transaction (to update the item record with the new cost or NOT) QuickBooks will use that as the default behavior. Its a good idea to discuss this new feature with all data entry personnel. You can reverse this decision by selecting "bring back all one time messages" option under preferences (general).
